Birthday Present to Chinara

Enzo.

Soft laughter rang. It tickled his ear and teased the fur covering it, a maddening sensation that mingled and enhanced that wonderful sound. Further back, the keys of a piano were playing a soft melody.  

Enzo, you sleepy-head.

Sleep? He remembered something important that he had been waiting for, embracing Varia on the couch as they waited for the day to end. No matter how hard he tried, the details eluded him even as the memory nudged at him.

He willed himself to wake and stretched like a cat. Warm surrounded him from behind, and two smaller bands of warmth enveloped his chest. It carried the perfume of his lover, who now kissed him at the nape of his neck. Varia fit perfectly against his bare back as if they melded together – each point of contact tingled with pleasure and heat.

“Awake now, my dear?” It laughed, nuzzling him. He turned around in its arms, Varia leaning back to give him room, and he kissed the Shapeshifter, pulling it against him. It moaned, gently scraping its teeth along his lower lip while its hand teased his ear. The other hand ran along his spine with sharp nails, trailing shivers and heat alike at their tail. He nearly forgot to reciprocate as he let himself get caught up in the sensations.

After they had been kissing for several minutes, they needed to part for Enzo’s burning lungs- a minor, but annoying inconvenience, he deemed. But he needed the pause, on the other hand, as speaking would have been difficult otherwise.

“Happy birthday, my dearest Varia.” He pulled Varia’s hands up and kissed on each on the knuckles. His smile grew sheepish.

“I’m sorry that I couldn’t enjoy the start of your day with you.”

It laughed, laughter chiming to the mirthful dance of light in its eyes.

“Only you would tire yourself to the brink of unconsciousness to prepare the ‘perfect birthday’ for me, and then try to wait for the clock to strike the date. My silly husband, whatever shall I do with you?”

“Well, you could kiss me.”

“Oohhh, so demanding.” Varia leant her face into his, lips barely brushing his. He could feel the vibrations of its purr on his own lips. “I thought today was my birthday?”

“And I’m your first present.” Had he been standing or even sitting, he would have stretched his arms to the side as an offering. As it was, he offered the cheekiest of grins- the one that always teased Varia and enticed it.

“Mmmhh, I don’t know. Does it count if the present is already half un-wrapped?”

Purple fingers hooked around the edge of his open collar before sliding down along the buttons, but instead of following the shirt, Varia went straight down, rubbing his exposed stomach, until it reached his trousers. It flirted with the button above the fly, and Enzo could swear that it had dipped its index’s tips under the trousers rim.

“Not when the package isn’t open yet,” he breathed, vision going hazy.

“Now then.”

Enzo blinked when he suddenly was staring up at the ceiling. Varia moved into his sight, eyeing him so as if it would undress him with its gaze alone. Slowly, its upper body descended, and he surged up, moaning in disappoint when it veered off and lowered its face to his chest. The nip at his skin there made him jump and Varia chuckled darkly, sin dripping from its voice.

“Then I better use my time and open my present, before we are called elsewhere. Don’t you agree, my dear Enzo?”

He couldn’t answer except for a mindless groan.
